Final 2012 Mock Draft

Alright this is my final mock draft for 2012, I will not be projecting trades, and I have used a consensus of some sites I enjoy to make my picks. These however are my own picks and I will gloat and take my lumps for them. There are a few surprises but really only one shocking one.

1. Indianapolis Colts: This pick was announced 4/24 and is what we have all expected since the end of the college football season. This is the right pick and there isn't a whole lot to talk about here. Pick: Andrew Luck, QB, Stanford

2. Washington RedskinsI like RGIII and think he will make Washington instantly better than they were with Rex Grossman, but I'm worried about if there will be any regression as he maybe huge leaps in his passing ability in 2011. I don't think you will see the early Baylor years, having only one year of quality tape scares me. Pick: Robert Griffin II, QB, Baylor

3. Minnesota Vikings: In the last 48 hours there has been a lot of news about this pick changing and the Vikings wanting to go in a different direction. I think we're see a lot of smoke coming from Minnesota because they believe they can get Kalil a little farther down or enough compensation to take the sting off of not getting Kalil. I think the teams they want to move up are the teams that would want Claiborne, and I'm not buying it. Pick: Matt Kalil, OT, USC

4. Cleveland Browns: Love Richardson, hate this pick. Trent Richardson is by far the best running back in this draft class and will be a great asset for a team, that being said, I would never take a running back in the top 10. They have the shortest positional life span, whether by injury or just getting old fast, and they just aren't worth the contracts they are signed to most often. It sound pretty close to inevitable he ends up with the Browns on draft day and he will make an impact immediately but I just wouldn't make this pick. Pick: Trent Richardson, RB, Alabama

5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Morris Clairborne is the best CB in this draft class, he's not Patrick Peterson,so let's get this out of the way right off the bat. Morris Claiborne is a great cover corner with a ball hawking tendency who would provide depth to a backfield may be losing both Ronde Barber and Aquib Talib relatively quickly. Claiborne is a great fit here and will add another young talent to this roster. Pick: Morris Claiborne, CB, LSU

6. St. Louis Rams: I heard many places about Floyd being better fit for the NFL and size-wise I believe that is true but there is no doubt in my mind that Blackmon is the best WR in this draft. I know he's 6-1, I konw he's not a speedster but I've watched him play and he was dominant, he's tough with good hands. Pick: Justin Blackmon, WR, Oklahoma State

7. Jacksonville Jaguars: Let's start this off by saying I don't know. I mean the Jaguars have been an enigma the last couple years at the draft and so I gave them the best defensive player on the board. You don't luck into leading the country in tackles two years in a row and Kuechly ahs great sidline to sideline movement. His most impressive trait is his pass defense skills and that makes him a great commodity for the Jaguars and helps to continue a rejuvination of the defense for the Jags.PIck: Luke Kuechly, LB, Boston College

8. Miami Dolphins: I wanted to predict a Brady Quinn/Aaron Rodgers type fall for Tannehill which I think is a stronger possiblity than many realize, however I just couldn't. If this pick isn't Tannehill I would applaud the logic of the Dolphins staff but I regret to inform Dolphins fans that this isn't really that good of a possibility. Pick: Ryan Tannehill, QB, Texas A&M
9. Carolina Panthers: Pick: Fletcher Cox, DT, Mississippi State
10. Buffalo Bills: Pick: Michael Floyd, WR, Notre Dame
11. Kansas City Chiefs: Pick: Melvin Ingram, DE, South Carolina
12. Seattle Seahawks: Pick: David DeCastro, OG, Stanford
13. Arizona Cardinals: Pick: Riley Reiff, OT, Iowa
14. Dallas Cowboys: Pick: Stephon Gilmore, CB, South Carolina
15. Philadelphia Eagles: Pick: Courtney Upshaw, DE, Alabama
16. New York Jets: Pick: Quinton Coples, DE, North Carolina
17. Cincinnati Bengals: Pick: Dre Kirkpatrick, CB, Alabama
18. San Diego Chargers: Pick: Cordy Glenn, OG, Georgia
19. Chicago Bears: Pick: Michael Brockers, DT, LSU
20. Tennessee Titans: Pick: Dontari Poe, NT, Memphis
21. Cincinnati Bengals: Pick: Mark Barron, S, Alabama
22. Cleveland Browns: Pick: Kendall Wright, WR, Baylor
23. Detroit Lions: Pick: Jonathan Martin, OT, Stanford
24. Pittsburgh Steelers: Pick: Whitney Mercilus, DE, Illinois
25. Denver Broncos: Pick: Nick Perry, DE, USC
26. Houston Texans: Pick: Stephen Hill, WR, Georgia Tech
27. New England Patriots: Pick: Donta Hightower, LB, Alabama
28. Green Bay Packers: Pick: Shea McClellin, DE, Boise State
29. Baltimore Ravens: Pick: Peter Konz, OC, Wisconsin
30. San Francisco 49ers: Pick: Kevin Zeitler, OG, Wisconsin
