Draft grade time, we’ll start off with the basics and then take a little bit of a dive into each class. As always draft grades are stupid, pointless, and fun. We’ll all be so very, very wrong very shortly, but that doesn’t make this any less fun an exercise.
Key: Picks
(# of selections), Ave. Grade (Average grade by me of the class), Ave NAAG
(Average positionally and scarcity adjusted grade), Total AV (Expected value of
a teams picks), Ave. We. Grade (Average grade with round weight applied), Trade
(Standard deviation of value gained or lost from trades), Draft Grade
(Numerical grade of each class), Letter Grade (Corresponding letter grade of
each class)

Favorite
Pick – Trey McBride (TE|55|A+) – They
just resigned Ertz but he’s getting old and McBride should be able to learn for
a year before taking over as the move tight end for Arizona.
Least
Favorite Pick – Cameron Thomas (Edge|87|C-) – Thomas
is a big bodied edge with alright athleticism but I had 8 Edge players left on
the board with better grades ahead of him.

Favorite
Pick – Tyler Allgeier (RB|151|A+) – Thought
hard about making this Ridder but ultimately the Cardinals got my RB3 at pick
151 behind something like a dozen other RBs.
Least
Favorite Pick – DeAngelo Malone (Edge|82|C) – Much
like Thomas, Malone isn’t a bad player just not the edge I would have taken in
that place with what else was on the board.

Favorite
Pick – Travis Jones (INT|76|A+) – This
could have been any of like six different picks. Jones was one of my
favorite prospects in the draft, he made impacts against bigger opponents and
tested out of the gym.
Least
Favorite Pick – Josh Paschal (Edge|46|C) – I’m
starting to think that I value different things than the NFL at edge! All jokes
aside Paschal was a guy who I just didn’t see translate as well as I wanted him
too on tape, seeming kind of stiff with a lack of bend. (This also could have
been Punter in the fourth but I was trying to avoid low hanging fruit.)

Favorite
Pick – Khalil Shakir (WR|148|A+) – Shakir
has a real shot to take over the Beasley role inside, and to get him this late
in the draft is spectacular value.
Least
Favorite Pick – Matt Araiza (P|180|F) – I love
Araiza because he challenges the conventional wisdom but he gets this spot
because there wasn’t much else to hate on with this draft outside of a corner
from Villanova that slipped through the cracks.

Favorite
Pick – Matt Corral (QB|94|A+) – I
though Corral had a chance to be a fringe first round pick, slipping to the
third takes some of the shine off but them/TEN/ATL got great value on QB in the
draft.
Least
Favorite Pick – Cade Mays (OT|180|B+) – Had to
chose between a 6th round B+ and a 7th C and the 6th
round pick won out. I didn’t like Mays like some out there but at pick 199 it’s
a matter of taste and I still had him as a top half of the potential starters
(PS) tier.

Favorite
Pick – Perrion Winfrey (Edge|108|A+) – An
athletic interior presence Winfrey’s injury issues probably pushed him down but
the Browns got a wonderful talent at 108.
Least
Favorite Pick – Alex Wright (Edge|78|D-) – Could
be him or Emerson but I decided on Wright. Neither is a bad bad player but both
just missed out on the top 256. There were better picks to be had.

Favorite
Pick – Jalen Tolbert (WR|88|A+) – My
WR9, Tolbert was the 15th WR picked he’s going to have a chance to play
on an extremely friendly offense if he can get up to speed as a rookie.
Least
Favorite Pick – Tyler Smith (OT|24|D) – Talked
about it in my round 1 recap but there were offensive linemen that I liked
quite a bit more than Smith at that spot. I think he’s a good player but that
doesn’t make this a good pick.

Pick – Greg Dulcich (TE|80|A+) – Dulcich
is a good move TE, with functional blocking skills. He reminds me of some of
those move TEs Wilson loved in Seattle.

speed is nice but Turner-Yell didn’t put up all that much production, while
being on the smaller side for a safety.

Pick – Malcolm Rodriguez (OBLB|188|A+) – An
undersized firecracker of a linebacker he’s going to fit in great with Dan “Biting
Kneecaps” Campbell and the Lions.
Least
Favorite Pick – Aidan Hutchinson (Edge|2|B) – This
was my least favorite pick because I would have taken Thibodeaux at Edge and a
handful of others players. I don’t hate Hutchinson and the Lions had a nice
draft overall but this is my least favorite pick they made overall.

Pick – Devonte Wyatt (INT|28|A+) – The

Favorite
Pick – Derek Stingley (WR|3|A) – Stingley
went where he should have and with a boring draft (not the good kind) the
Texans didn’t have much more flash than this.
Least
Favorite Pick – Entire Draft – The Texans didn’t
get better, it was touch to get worse but they drafted like a team that needs
bit players to get over the hump. I can’t get excited by much, and even their
kind of intriguing dart throws have limited upside.

Pick – Alec Pierce (WR|53|A+) – Pierce
was one of my favorite’s in this process with great speed and body control. To

Least

had great testing this offseason but is an awkward mover at 6’ 7 1/8” but he’ll
be a big target and definitely fits a mold for the Colts at TE.

agilities of 4.10 & 6.94 shuttle and 3-cone respectively. He only had 4

together too rich for my taste.

I was never as high on Johnson as others, I’ll concede that this is a great

Pick – Nakobe Dean (OBLB|83|A+) – Dean
has a labrum tear that was concerning to clubs but considering Ojabo is going

disrupted rookie season.
Least
Favorite Pick – Jordan Davis (INT|13|C) – This
pick could be an absolute home run, I didn’t see him disrupt when given the
chance like would have wanted to but there is no denying he has the tools to be
a truly infuriating disrupter at the next level.

Favorite
Pick – Malik Willis (QB|86|A+) – Got
my #1 QB at pick 86. He should at least push Tannehill and would slot into a
system that would utilize his abilities if he got in.
Least
Favorite Pick – Nicholas Petite-Frere (OT|69|D-) –
An interesting prospect Petite-Frere just wasn’t worth a 3rd
round pick, was much more of an upside shot in the dark mid to late day three.

Favorite
Pick – Cole Turner (TE|149|A+) – Looks
awkward but produced well with Carson Strong at Nevada. He gives them some
upside and young blood at TE.
