Gonna

SMU
at Houston (-25), 7:00 pm ESPN2
Washington
at #17 USC (-17), 8:00 pm ESPN
These
two games seem to be a hell of a dichotomy. First you have the shootout to pace
all shootouts as SMU meets Houston. SMU isn’t there yet, and Houston is showing
signs off an absurdly bright future. Houston,
48-34 for some Thursday Texas
shootout fun. The other features a now completely in the Pac-12 South race USC
against, what has turned into a stupidly stingy Huskies team. USC has too much offense, but sputters
early, 27-13.

Middle
Tennessee at WKU (-7), 11:00 am
#3
Baylor (-45.5) at Kansas, 11:00 Fox Sports 1
#10
Oklahoma (-16) at Texas, 11:00 ABC
Maryland
at #1 Ohio State (-31.5), 11:00 BTN
The
early slate, is, certainly, something. MTSU-WKU is the best game of the early
slate, until Texas starts to push Oklahoma and fuck up their season. MTSU-WKU
will be exciting, and a great group of five game, and you will see practically
none of it. 31-28 WKU. Baylor and Ohio State will run over their opponents, 56-16 and 48-13. As for the aforementioned OU-UT, well I’ll say 24-21 Oklahoma but I have no
confidence in the outcome.
Georgia
Tech at #6 Clemson (-7), 2:30 pm ESPN2
South
Carolina at #7 LSU (-20.5), 2:30 pm
#19 Georgia (-2.5) at Tennessee, 2:30 pm
Navy
at #15 Notre Dame (-13.5), 2:30 pm NBC
#13
Northwestern at #18 Michigan (-10.5), 2:30 pm BTN
Another
really good afternoon slate, yes South Carolina-LSU is kind of a dud but you get
to watch Leonard Fournette play a porous Gamecock defense. LSU 31-14. Georgia-Tennessee and Navy-Notre Dame are
matchups of teams coming off their first loss in a rain storm, and two team
that haven’t quite played up to the leel they were hoping. Yes, Navy is undefeated
but both the UCONN and Air Force games have been sloppier than expected.
Tennessee is coming off another loss at home, this time to Arkansas and they
are reeling, many would have told you preseason that Tennessee wasn’t losing
both the Bama and Georgia games, so there’s an urgency here. Georgia got it’s
ass whipped by Bama, but the run game is still among the elite in the country
and Lambert won’t have to face that Tide secondary again unless they make it to
Atlanta at seasons end. Notre Dame was resilient and at least had a shot at the
victory last weekend, but they showed their youth and ran into a Clemson front
that was playing lights out. This week will be another great test for a young
team, and a great test to galvanize this set of Golden Domers. Georgia 28-24 and Notre Dame 24-21. Georgia Tech
would fit right in with Tennessee and Navy, in the “teams that haven’t lived up
to expectations good, and other stuff” division. Clemson, has. A very nice win over Notre Dame last week, Georgia
Tech is next and one of their few tests before Florida State later in the
season. Clemson needs to get focused after the big win and avoid the Clemsoning
that is lurking around the corner. Clemson
28-17.
#25
Boise State (-15) at Colorado State, 6:00 pm CBSSN
Arkansas
at #8 Alabama (-16), 6:00 pm ESPN
#21
Oklahoma State at West Virginia (-5.5), 6:00 pm ESPN2
#2
TCU (-9.5) at Kansas State, 6:30 pm FOX
#11
Florida (-5) at Missouri, 6:30 pm SEC Network
Miami
(FL) at #12 Florida State (-6.5), 7:00 pm ABC
#4
Michigan State (-13) at Rutgers, 7:00 pm BTN
A
pretty interesting, if not ranked matchups we like to see at night. Michigan
State is the only one with a rollover matchup against a Rutgers team in
disarray. Give me State 31-13.
Boise State, Florida State, and TCU all have games against inferior teams, but
teams that should at least give them some run. Florida State should be able to
get some stops, but Kaaya and company will be able to score points, and the ‘Noles
offense isn’t running at 100% capacity, but I think the ‘Noles pull away late 27-21.
TCU gets to play Bill Snyder, a motherfucking wizard, on the road and although
Kansas State doesn’t have the fire power to keep up, that third string TCU
defense is going to give up some points. Give me TCU 45-31. The last of this group Boise, gets a perfectly
good challenge on the road against Colorado State. The Rams will give a
defensive challenge to a still developing Broncos
offense, but the defense should be good enough to pull out the win, 24-17. Alabama is in body blow territory
after a slogfest in the rain between the hedges last week. Arkansas is coming
off a close win at Tennessee (who does have one of those), but this is a team
that has given Alabama fits recently. I think the front seven for Alabama is
better this season, and the Razorbacks don’t get enough big plays but keep it
close. Alabama, 27-24. The
last two are teams that I don’t think any of us are sure on yet this season,
Oklahoma State and Florida. Oklahoma State pulled out the win against Kansas
State last week, Texas the week before, and Central Michigan in week 1 and that
is going to catch up with them and what a better place for that to happen than
on the road, at night, in Morgantown. West
Virginia, 31-28. Lastly, is
the surprising team of the year so far, the Florida Gators. Florida absolutely
demolished Ole Miss last week, and has looked surprisingly good so far outside
of that weird Kentucky game. This is the time we see the Gators blow it though,
against Missouri who has been the exact opposite team. Missouri has looked like
crap so far this year including a 3 point win over UCONN in what surely caused early
onset erectile dysfunction for whomever watched it. My gut says Missouri ugly, lest call it 17-16.
#23
California at #5 Utah (-7.5), 9:00 pm ESPN
Stand
alone late night Gameday game. Cal is resurgent behind QB Jared Goff, but the
soft spot here is definitely the defense. The defense let Texas hang around and
against a competent offense like Utah that starts to sing the tune of danger
for the Bears. Utah for it’s part has a round2 knockout of Oreogn and knockdown
dragout, Ali-Wepner win against Michigan. This one is strength against strength,
and weakness against weakness, but I see Utah
coming out ahead, 38-31.
There
we are, enjoy the week, this was pretty rushed so sorry if it’s sloppy.
