Final 2015 Two Round Mock Draft

Well here we are I switched this one up a bit and combined a new mock with a mock the way I think it should happen with my grades and views on players. The first player seen is how I think it will happen and the second are mine. Enjoy.

First Round

1) Tampa Bay Buccaneers | Jameis Winston, QB, Florida State | I can't see this not happening, the Bucs seem to be at peace and I think Winston is the most NFL ready of the two quarterbacks and agree with the pick if you have come to terms with what he has been off the field.

2) Tennessee Titans | Marcus Mariota, QB, Oregon | This pick has been shopped to multiple teams and Tennessee isn't getting the value they want out of it so this pick is going to be Mariota. I'm not as disappointed in that as the Titans and think it's the pick that needs to be made.

My first trade, it was first suggested on the Draft Savages podcast and has been discussed in many place but it makes sense. I have Atlanta getting 3 &180 from Jacksonville for 8, 73 & 161.

3) Atlanta Falcons (from Jacksonville)
Dante Fowler Jr, Edge, Florida | Washington lost Orakpo this off-season to Tennessee and needs at OLB and CB. I'm not as high on Fowler and don't think he will be fully utilized by the Redskins, but I don't hate the pick. I would take Beasley.

4) Oakland Raiders |
Leonard Williams, DL, USC | I've had WR going here in most of my previous mocks but with TEN taking QB and the Jags looking for a pass rusher that leaves the Raiders with the best player in the draft and a very versatile defensive lineman.

5) Washington Redskins |
Bud Dupree, Edge, Kentucky | This is going to be an edge player to fill the Leo role in the Jaguars defense. I personally think this pick should be Beasley who is my highest rated edge player but I think this pick comes down to Dupree and Fowler.

6) New York Jets | Kevin White, WR, West Virginia | I've had Mariota here in the past, and they would love that, but he's not here in this mock and that turns their attention to Kevin White. White is a receiver with more down field burst than Marshall or Decker and would finally put a good surrounding cast in place for the Jets in some time.

7) Chicago Bears |
Brandon Scherff, OL, Iowa | Scherff is the best all-around offensive lineman in the draft but will probably shift inside much like Zack Martin last season. Scherff uses leverage well, with good enough feet that could leave him at RT like Bulaga before him. The Bears have made strides but still help up front.

8) Jacksonville Jaguars (from Atlanta) | Vic Beasley, Edge, Clemson | This is a dream scenario for the Jags, who get to move down and still get elite LEO help. Beasley is my favorite Edge player in the draft and would be a great addition to a burgeoning but still hole-y defense.

Second Trade: Cleveland seeing a board where no elite receiver is left, makes a jump up with the Giants to land Amari Cooper. Cleveland gets 9 & 108/ New York gets 12, 77 & 189.

9) Cleveland Browns (from New York (N)) | Amari Cooper, WR, Alabama | Cooper is my best receiver, with good hands, great footwork and a willingness to go over the middle. I know some have reservations about his ability to high point but I think he can get make that into at least an average level skill.

10) St. Louis Rams |
Devante Parker, WR, Louisville | The last couple of Mocks I had Parker going to the Vikings a pick before this but with the Browns moving up for Cooper they are left with a decision between a CB or Parker. With Foles coming in from Philly and a receiving corps that hasn't developed as hoped Parker would add a stable receiver with upside. Parker was a rock for Bridgewater at Louisville and an explosive part of the Cardinals offense.

11) Minnesota Vikings | Marcus Peters, CB, Washington | Peters is a great consolation prize for the Vikings. Another secondary piece with athletic upside who can help with the Vikings, Packer problem. Parker is the target here one more piece for Teddy, but Peters helps on the other side of the ball with much the same targeted impact.

12) New York Giants (from Cleveland) |
Todd Gurley, RB, Georgia | Gurley is a top 5 talent in the draft, at a position that is devalued, coming off of ACL surgery. That's a bit harrowing but this draft lacks top end, impact talent and that's exactly what Gurley is.

13) New Orleans Saints |
Andrus Peat, OT, Stanford | Peat is a polarizing offensive line prospect, he has great athletic ability, with an inconsistent motor and lapses in his technique. He's gonna need a motivator at coach but he's got everything you'd want out of a tackle prospect.

14) Miami Dolphins |
D.J. Humphries, OT, Florida | Humphries is an athletic undersized tackle who can still add weight. He's got issues with consistency and his kick slide but he should be able to fit in and get better quickly as he transitions to the pro game.

15) San Francisco 49ers | Arik Armstead, DL, Oregon | Armstead is a 6'7" athletic 3-4 DE with a set of moves that should allow him to transition to 4-3 DE or DT. Armstead would be a great replacement for Justin Smith who is still contemplating retirement and is probably gone soon.

16) Houston Texans |
Dorial Green-Beckham, WR, Missouri | Andre is gone and the Texans need help outside to compliment Hopkins and Shorts. Green-Beckham comes with risks that are troubling to say the least but he's a premier talent and would be a great addition for whomever takes him, just with considerable risk.

17) San Diego Chargers |
Malcolm Brown, DT, Texas | Brown could be the steal of the draft, he played on a Longhorns defense that underwhelmed and was undermanned. Brown was good enough in a 4-3 usage but where he excelled on tape is when he was man up and was allowed to two gap and recognize the play. I really like Brown in this draft and at this point in the first he'd be a great addition for the Chargers.

18) Kansas City Chiefs | Randy Gregory, Edge, Nebraska | Yes Gregory tested positively for weed a the combine and that's never a good sign but Gregory is an intriguing Edge player who would probably have been a top ten pick without said drug test failure. He's a bit undersized and hasn't been able to keep the weight on despite being healthier, but he blew up Ereck Flowers during the season and has shown enough to be worth a flier at this point in the draft.

19) Cleveland Browns (From Buffalo) | Danny Shelton, NT, Washington | Shelton is a true NT prospect with motivation issues, and an unfortunate habit of disappearing against top competition. Shelton showed the top end flashes at the Senior Bowl that had scouts salivating, while also showing the lapses that scare coaches and front offices. He's too much to pass up for the Browns here at 19.

20) Philadelphia Eagles | Jalen Collins, CB, LSU | Wanted to put Byron Jones here but couldn't must it but this still leaves us with Jalen Collins. Collins a big 6'1" 203 lbs corner back and does Chip Kelly love that big physical athletes and Collins fits that mold.

21) Cincinnati Bengals | Jake Fisher, OT, Oregon | I orignially had the Bengals taking a CB here but the line needs help on the edges to protect Andy Dalton. Fisher is an athletic player who converts his power really well in on the edge but needs to clean up his footwork in order to become more consistent in pass pro.

22) Pittsburgh Steelers | Kevin Johnson, CB, Wake Forest | Johnson is a technically sound corner with solid technique in man coverage, but he wins in zone. Johnson has great instincts and enouhg athleticism to make the play and adjustments on the ball and the receiver.

23) Detroit Lions | Cameron Erving, C, Florida State | The current Lions center (whom I won't name) is a punk and the sooner they find a replacement and he's gone the better. Erving is the best center and would be a nice addition to a line that's getting older on the interior.

24) Arizona Cardinals | Owa Odighizuwa, DL, UCLA | Owa is a wonderful 3-4 DE who will be able to fit into any scheme. Whether kicking inside to 3 tech in a 4-3, playing the 5 in a 3-4 or the 7 or 9 in a 4-3. A big body he converts speed to power really well and will be a great addition to a Cardinals team who has seen quite a bit of attrition the last couple of years in the front 7.

25) Carolina Panthers | T.J. Clemmings, OT, Pittsburgh | Clemmings is a former DT who has only played OT for two seasons but he ahs progressed well. He may need a redshirt year because he has a tendency to reach and waste bend and needs to clean up his footwork.

26) Baltimore Ravens | Trae Waynes, CB, Michigan State | Waynes has been mocked anyhwere after 10 for a while but he has flaws and I see him slipping because of them. Like many recent Michigan State DBs Waynes liberaly used the lack of illegal contact at the college level to his full advantage. He's a bit tight hipped and will be best used if he can disrupt receivers at the line of scrimmage.

27) Dallas Cowboys | Shane Ray, DE, Missouri | I'm not a big fan of Ray but he fits best at 4-3 DE with his hand in the dirt. I won't love this pick when it happens but I can understand the rationale. Ray was a productive DE at Missouri but he has a foot injury and a recent arrest.

28) Denver Broncos | La'el Collins, OT, LSU | Denver needs help all along a line that is aging. Collins is an extra piece if oft-injured Ryan Clady has troubles again this season. Collins should be a good sixth lineman this season and has a chance to mold into a starting tackle or guard down the line.

29) Indianapolis Colts | Ereck Flowers, OT, Miami (FL) | I'm sorry I will not like Flowers in the first round because of that kick-slide that I linked last mock. That's about all I have to say here.

30) Green Bay Packers | Erick Rowe, CB, Utah | I had Kendricks here for a long time but after some thought and a percieved lack of seperation among the OBLB by most, which will cause all to fall out of the first round. To replace Kendricks, I went with Erick Rowe, the S/CB out of Utah. Rowe, is a big physical corner who moved from safety to the outside this past season. I believe much of his hesitation and mis-steps are due to trying to make the adjustment to the new position last season.

31) New Orleans Saints (From Seattle) | Breshad Perriman, WR, UCF | Perriman has the ability to stretch a defense and replace Stills at a cheap price. He also gives you upside as you start the transition to a younger team.

32) Washington Redskins (From New England) | Brett Hundley, QB, UCLA | Washington got help rushing the quarterback with their origanl pick, now it's time for McClellan to make his mark on the program. RGIII already got his 5th year option which is a put up or shut up move from the front office. If the new regime isn't convinced that Griffin is the future a little more pressure can be applied by bringing in Hundley who many think is just a half step behind Griffin.

There’s the first round and especially after the 15-16 range is going to be very interesting to see what team’s value and go after with their picks. That should lead to a very entertaining first round and leave a very interesting best available heading into rounds 2-3.

Second Round

No analysis on the second round, with the first round a stand alone that will change in the next 24 hours.

33) Tennessee Titans |
Byron Jones, CB, UCONN |

34) Tampa Bay Buccaneers | Landon Collins, SS, Alabama |

35) Oakland Raiders | Eddie Goldman, DT, Florida State |

36) Jacksonville Jaguars | Laken Tomlinson, G, Duke |

37) New York Jets | Grady Jarrett, DT, Clemson |

38) New England (From Washington) | Erick Kendricks, OBLB, UCLA |

39) Chicago Bears | Jaelen Strong, WR, Arizona State |

40) New York Giants | Carl Davis, DT, Iowa |

41) St. Louis Rams | Maxx Williams, TE, Minnesota |

42) Atlanta Falcons | Melvin Gordon, RB, Wisconsin |

46) San Francisco 49ers | Benardrick McKinney, OBLB, Mississippi State |

47) Miami Dolphins | Nelson Agholor, WR, USC |

48) San Diego Chargers | Jordan Phillips, DT, Oklahoma |

49) Kansas City Chiefs | Phillip Dorsett, WR, Miami (FL) |

50) Buffalo Bills | Eli Harold, Edge, Virginia |

52) Philadelphia Eagles | Sammie Coates, WR, Auburn |
