TE is the last bastion of a major early round studs or late round much in the way QB used to be. There’s the handful of studs up top, and then a choose your own adventure game from there on out.

Top Five Differences (Top 5 Tiers)

1)     Jared Cook | My Rank (29) | ADP (18) | Cook returned to his yards per catch to the levels of the rest of his career, and while he’s the nominal starter for the Chargers, Parham/Anderson/McKitty are all younger more athletic options.

2)     Mike Gesicki | My Rank (21) | ADP (12) | Gesicik is a swing tight end who’s share of the offense is dwindling a bit after the addition of Waddle and Fuller. Gesicki has never quite broke out the way we thought a player of his athletic ability would.

3)     Blake Jarwin | My Rank (15) | ADP (24) | I’m ranking Jarwin near where we had him last year while I think Schultz is a nice piece I don’t think he significantly effects Jarwin’s output and if the Cowboys offense is as good as we think the teams top tight end will be a useful 2^nd tight end at the worst.

4)     Zach Ertz | My Rank (12) | ADP (20) | Ertz’s rank seems to imply that he’s on a different team and or uncertain. I’m not as bullish on Ertz and Goedert as last year but a late TE2 seems like too far of a fall on a team still lacking weapons.

5)     Jordan Akins | My Rank (25) | ADP (32) | Akins is going undrafted among tight ends, but Tyrod or Mills will need a safety valve and Akins is the top tight end on the team and could be a useful piece if not a top option.
