Alright, here are my post draft Post draft R.O.O.C. rankings are here and as always you are guaranteed to agree with all of it. ROOC stands for (Rookie Overall Opportunity Composite) which made a nice acronym to put it more simply it’s my rankings of players from the draft adjusted for the value of their draft slot and the roster around them. The components that go into the Ranks are: Player Grade – rating on an scale from 2-8 , Pick Grade – letter grade for each pick turned into a percentage, Pick AV – the Average Approximate Value (AV) of the pick a player was selected with, Now – Where they sit on the teams Ourlads depth chart, End of Season (EOS) – where I think they’ll finish the year on the depth chart, Year 3 – where I think they slot overall on a depth chart in 3 years. The six ingredients all mix together to get a raw grade and then I adjust the grade for positional value in fantasy football. And voila!!! A set of R.O.O.C. ranks.

Tier 1 (1) – This
tier is pretty straight forward it’s Drake London. He was my highest rated receiver,
the first position player taken at pick 8 and has very little in his way to
playing time. He’s got just enough extra to make this a tier of it’s own… even
if I wouldn’t quite have it that way (we’ll get that later).
Tier 2 (2-4) – Williams,
Olave and Wilson fill out this tier and ait’s easy to see why… they filled out
the 10th, 11th, and 12th picks in the draft, were
all top 5 WRs for me, and starter levels to boot. All profile with good paths
to being their teams top options quickly if not year 1.
Tier 3 (5-7) – Burks is
kind of rated in no man’s land here he’s not really on par with Tier 2, but not
quite separating from Dotson and Hall. Dotson goes to an interesting but
muddied situation in Washington. He’s a good player and should provide some flexibility
with McLaurin. Hall is someone that I’m both higher and lower on than consensus,
but where this is concerned, he was a high second round pick, well graded, and
should be the starter from day 1.
Tier 4 (8-12) – Our first
larger tier and one that has some interesting players. Walker should be the
starter in Seattle with Carson pretty much toast and Penny having the worst
injury luck for an entire career. Watson will be a starter for the Packers this
year barring him being absolutely trash, Pierce should be the running mate for
Pittman in Indy, Pickens went to the best receiver drafting team in the NFL,
and Metchie is good enough if not spectacular to pair with Cooks in Houston.
Tier 5 (13-23) – Pickett
is worth a late second in single QB leagues because he just doesn’t have that
upside to warrant much more of an investment. Moore and Robinson being this
close and in this order is on a double-digit pick spread, more than a referendum
on playing time or landing spot, that and me being lower on Moore than most. After
that it’s a pick your poison at RB from 16-22 on which player and landing spot
you like the best.

Tier 1 (1) & Tier 2
(2-4) – No change in the top 2 tiers between standard and 2 QB so see
my analysis above.
Tier 3 (5-9) - The tier with Burks, Dotson, and Hall adds Pickett
and Walker. 2QB brings Pickett way up because starters or expected starters are
so much more valuable and him sliding up changes how the differences look
relatively meaning I’m alright adding Walker to the tier.
Tier 4 (10-12) – No QBs
not much to talk about
Tier 5 (13-16) – The 3rd
round quarterbacks tier, featuring John Metchie. Ridder and Corral have solid routes
to playing time, Willis was my top QB by far, which props him up a little
higher in these ranks than the order in mine.
Tier 6 (17-26) – Tier 5
from standard R.O.O.C. in its entirety.
Tier 7 (27-33) – Zappe and
Howell pop up into this tier for me late in the 3rd round range neither
went to great places but they’re both top 5 round picks with good enough pre-draft
grades to give them late consideration from my R.O.O.C. rankings.

I’m high on Burks and think
he warrants inclusion with London and Williams based on opportunity available. After
that, I have the two RBs because of positional value and scarcity but with
Walker and what should be a heavy workload in Seattle. I’m slightly low on Hall
because I’m not sure he’s going to see RB1 workloads with Carter being drafted last
year and showing flashes. I still think Hall is really good. Olave, Wilson, and
Dotson fill out the top 8 and tier 2. Tier 3 is large, Watson should be the WR1
for GB next year if not this, Moore lands in a great place, Pierce is Indy’s
WR2, Algeier was a favorite of mine pre-draft and ATL has rushes available, ditto
for Pierce, White has Jacobs blocking a large rush share but Jacobs didn’t have
his option picked up; Cook could end up being a really nice piece in that Bills
passing game and Pickett was a top 20 pick at QB and only has to beat out
Trubisky. The biggest surprise remaining is Willis. I really like Willis but he’s
a 3rd round pick stuck behind a QB that just got a big contract extension
and isn’t guaranteed to start for a couple of seasons. It just feels like a player
we love going to a situation we have to ignore to draft relatively high in standard
leagues.

Let’s talk about QBs… Pickett
moves up 8 picks and is a solid 1st round pick if a bit more towards
the backend for where we might usually see a 1st round QB. I popped
Ridder, Corral, and Willis up to the top of round 2 because you at least have a
chance of them being starters, Ridder only having Mariota in front of him,
Corral only having Darnold in front of him, and Willis has Tannehill but a
chance starting year 2 to take over in Tennessee. Howell pops up to the late second,
and Zappe to the late fourth.
It’s a bit of a rough year
but there are some intriguing lottery tickets and moon shoots to have some fun.
Good luck and we’ll reconvene at the start of camp to see how things have shaken
out.
