Final 2015 Two Round Mock Draft

Well here we are I switched this one up a bit and combined a new mock with a mock the way I think it should happen with my grades and views on players. The first player seen is how I think it will happen and the second are mine. Enjoy.

First Round

1) Tampa Bay Buccaneers | Jameis Winston, QB, Florida State | I can't see this not happening, the Bucs seem to be at peace and I think Winston is the most NFL ready of the two quarterbacks and agree with the pick if you have come to terms with what he has been off the field.

2) Tennessee Titans | Marcus Mariota, QB, Oregon | This pick has been shopped to multiple teams and Tennessee isn't getting the value they want out of it so this pick is going to be Mariota. I'm not as disappointed in that as the Titans and think it's the pick that needs to be made.

My first trade, it was first suggested on the Draft Savages podcast and has been discussed in many place but it makes sense. I have Atlanta getting 3 &180 from Jacksonville for 8, 73 & 161.

3) Atlanta Falcons (from Jacksonville)
Dante Fowler Jr, Edge, Florida | Washington lost Orakpo this off-season to Tennessee and needs at OLB and CB. I'm not as high on Fowler and don't think he will be fully utilized by the Redskins, but I don't hate the pick. I would take Beasley.

4) Oakland Raiders |
Leonard Williams, DL, USC | I've had WR going here in most of my previous mocks but with TEN taking QB and the Jags looking for a pass rusher that leaves the Raiders with the best player in the draft and a very versatile defensive lineman.

5) Washington Redskins |
Bud Dupree, Edge, Kentucky | This is going to be an edge player to fill the Leo role in the Jaguars defense. I personally think this pick should be Beasley who is my highest rated edge player but I think this pick comes down to Dupree and Fowler.

3rd Mock Draft + How I'd Do It

Well here we are I switched this one up a bit and combined a new mock with a mock the way I think it should happen with my grades and views on players. The first player seen is how I think it will happen and the second are mine. Enjoy.

First Round

1) Tampa Bay Buccaneers | Jameis Winston, QB, Florida State | I still have an urge to put Mariota here as I like him more long term than Winston but every time I think about Mariota's future I think about how great it would be if he got a year or two to work on his skills a la Aaron Rodgers. So my pick matches the mock pick and sends the former Seminole to Tampa. | Jameis Winston, QB, Florida State

2) Tennessee Titans | Leonard Williams, DT, USC | Williams is a perfect fit in Tennessee's defense and would be an anchor and a force for that defense. That won't mean much for the current regime if they don't find a quarterback to take the team to a new level. Mariota is the second best quarterback in the class and is a ways above Grayson and Hundley and for me he can be your franchise. | Marcus Mariota, QB, Oregon

3) Jacksonville Jaguars |
Dante Fowler Jr., Edge, Florida | Jacksonville is looking for a LEO (weak side LB) in their defense and an edge player. Fowler was good but limited at Florida and his workout numbers match up. Beasley has put on some weight and was very productive at Clemson and is my best top rated Edge player. | Vic Beasley, Edge, Clemson

2015 NFL Draft Big Board (Top 100)

After putting the tiers together I put grades on the players and tweaked to create a big board that represents both positional value and what I think the value of the player is. Some players I am much higher on than the consensus and some I am lower on but overall I think I have a pretty good list and will assuredly be made a fool of in the end. Enjoy, discuss and as always let me know why I'm an idiot.

2015 NFL Draft Positional Top Tens

I put the players into type tiers based on this piece Phil Savage the director of the Senior Bowl and it was a very fruitful process and a better way to think about players. RB, WR, OT, DT, Edge (Pass Rushers), Off Ball Linebackers (OBLB) and CB have 15 listed because of the amount of prospects. These tiers and prospects inform my top 50 big board and is a great place to start looking at the prospects.

2011 NFL Draft Re-Draft

All picks are the originals as it would have looked heading into the draft. Trades made during the draft are not included. Trades made in previous years are.

1) Carolina Panthers: Actual Pick: Cam Newton QB, the Panthers have made a lot of mistakes over the past decade and in the past four to five years but Newton isn't one of them. The bigger hindrance for the Panthers were bad contracts and inability to put weapons around Newton. To me this isn't even a conundrum. New Pick: Cam Newton QB
2) Denver Broncos: Actual Pick: Von Miller LB, Miller was suspended for PEDs last season and has had some injury problems but he has been what he was suppose to be and still ranks seventh in Pro-Football-Reference career approximate value with those missed games. New Pick: Von Miller LB
3) Buffalo Bills: Actual Pick: Marcell Dareus DT, Dareus has panned out well, he's played in every game of his career and is one of the best young tackles in the game. I don't think Buffalo regrets it one  New Pick: Marcel Dareus DT
4) Cincinnati Bengals: Actual Pick: A.J. Green WR, Same for the Bengals. Green has been as good as advertised and has played 11 more games than Julio Jones to this part in their careers. New Pick: A.J. Green WR
