Alright there is no way around it I had 22 games within a touchdown and I went 8-14 in those games. Rough week, but we’ll keep trucking. The good news is I’m still above 70% overall and no category is below 50%.

Instead of doing a separate deep dive this week I’m going to take a little time to preview the conference championship games and Oklahoma-Oklahoma State. Let’s work from worst conference to best… We start with the MWC title game, a game that lost so much of the luster the last couple of weeks. Wyoming lost two games down the stretch in conference but stumbled into home field in this game because of the ineptitude of San Diego State and Boise State. This one is going to be fun and close, but it would have been more fun if any of the MWC trio was going to be giving Western Michigan a run for their money in the CFP Standings. Western Michigan should easily win the MAC Championship, but you should absolutely watch them until the Pac-12 Championship Game kicks off 2 hours later on Friday. WMU is almost assuredly going to be your Group of 5 representative this season and they’re at worst on par with a middle-tier Big Ten team if not a challenger to Iowa/Nebraska/Minnesota. On Saturday at 11:00 you get a pair of championship games that should at least be entertaining, Navy-Temple is a game where the worst parts of each team are matched up against each other. As for WKU-La Tech you get a WKU that has played really well most of the season with really poor blips along the way. Louisiana Tech has done really well despite huge losses and should be applauded for even getting here. Penn State-Wisconsin is a weird game because it’s important for the six big bowls, it’s important for the fans of both schools and it might be important playoff-wise but it almost assuredly is a game between the 3rd and 4th best teams in the conference. Out west Washington-Colorado is a matchup between a preseason hype that came true and the best story in the nation. Washington is the better team, but god damn if this isn’t a game we all need to enjoy and a game that absolutely matters. With the last two I have different issues, Clemson-Va Tech doesn’t excite me because I think Clemson is clearly better, but I still have questions about what Clemson is this year (despite the per play/drive data being basically the same). Florida-Alabama is going to be a blood bath and god dammit if I’m not going to hate watch every minute of it.
