Alright we're starting to get more and more early week football making keeping on top of things a priority and a pain in the ass. But it's football and like any stupid thing in your life it has just enough highs to keep you coming back. Last week had a few upsets, and was our first full week of conference games, which means each of us hates the opposing team a little more and extremely weird things happen.
The early slate this week isn't great, with Troy-South Alabama being a perfectly acceptable #FunBelt Wednesday nighter, we get Cal-Wazzou in what looks like a pretty mild version of #Pac12AfterDark, and not much else. Saturday is hit or miss too, for every WVU-TTU and K State-TCU, we get Temple-UCONN and Illinois-Rutgers. That said Duke-FSU and Indiana-UM are at least show us who you are games. In the afternoon we lose out on what could have been a secretly fun B1G game between Maryland and Northwestern, and whatever Ok State-Baylor could have been. We do get Miami v. Georgia Tech, in what really seems like a Mark Richt team lost to whom game. LSU-Auburn which you should definitely not allow your kids to watch. We also get the Red River Whatever we're calling it now, but like the World's Largest Cocktail party we're all still going to call, Shootout game. Which by Iowa State transitive property game means a Texas by a margin that will have everybody wondering if Oklahoma should have hired someone other than the ridiculously young assistant it had no other choice but hire due to Stoops leaving suddenly late in the off-season. Sorry this is a rambling one where I just drone on in horrible run on sentences that would make anyone who read a paper of mine in school nod there head because the way I talk and the way the written word works do not work well in conjunction and by god whys is there a comma or some other punctuation in your sentence no one has enough breath to finish saying this out loud you ass. Any way this 2:30 slate also includes, surprisingly important Wisconsin-Purdue as Brohm and company try to claim Paul Bunyan's Axe by beating Minnesota and Wisconsin two weeks in a row. Navy-Memphis moves us towards the late afternoon games with what should be a peach of an AAC and give us a better idea of whether Navy is going to be able to scare UCF. Houston-Tulsa should have been fun at 3:00, but who knows now. The evening set of games kicks off with a, with a, well, Florida-A&M matchup of teams that are good. Probably. To continue the SEC slate, Alabama is going to destroy Arkansas, ditto for Georgia (Mizzou), ditto for Ohio State (Nebraska(I know they're not actual SEC)). USF-Cincy is the game your gonna keep checking in with just to make sure on ESPNU, USC-Utah is the last Pac-12 South game you actually have to pay attention too, especially if USC wins. Minne-MSU is going to be intriguing with MSU coming off rivalry win bliss, and Minnesota coming off a disappointing loss in a well contested game with Purdue. Arizona-UCLA has a chance to get early #Pac12Afterdark-y. SDSU-Boise, like USC-Utah, could be a MWC championship game preview (yes, I know about Colorado State). ASU-Wash is probably your best hope for #Pac12AfterDark, but Stanford-Oregon should be fun, even with it's lost luster with the Herbert injury. And then a late Hawaii game to finish out the weekend. There's a lot to like, there's a lot to ignore unless wackiness happens, but like most weeks, I talked myself into this week of college football.
