2018 College Football Season: Week 4 Preview: Bulldogs, Buckeyes, Tigers, and Tides, Oh My!

Alright, Week 4 and the season is starting to round into form as we wrap up the majority of the non-con season and head into the conference season.

In-Week Slate
The weekday slate is…. Alright. Temple-Tulsa is a bit intriguing, UCF-FAU will tell quite a bit about each team, and USC-Wazzou will tell us which team is in for an incredibly long season.

Early (Saturday) Slate (11:00-pre-14:00)
Wake-ND should give us a good barometer for BC’s win last week and whether Notre Dame is good or just getting by. Buffalo has a chance to show they’re a truly dangerous MAC team, Mary-Minn & Mich-Neb will tell us more about the sturdiness of the Big Ten middle, Georgia has a chance to make it even more clear that it’s them and Alabama in the SEC, and UNC-Pitt/UVA-LOU will help us determine where the ACC sits early in the season.

Afternoon (Saturday) Slate (14:00-pre-17:00)
The afternoon slate will answer four questions…
1)      How bad is FSU?
2)     Can anyone test Bama?
3)     Is South Carolina good?
4)     TCU very good or “just” above average?

Evening Saturday Slate (17:00-19:30)
We start the 6:00 central games with a “SHOOTOUT!!” between Oklahoma State and Texas Tech and an SEC loser gets all of the doubts heaped on them (UK/MSU). Then we get a litmus test for whom has fallen further between Tennessee and Florida. Michigan State gets a chance to prove all the pre-season hype warranted, Auburn gets a chance to look exceptionally good against Arkansas as does USF (vs ECU) after a closer than it should have been matchup with Illinois. The headliners for the night are Oregon-Stanford and Iowa-Wisconsin, the latter of which is less important now that Wisconsin has eliminated itself from playoff consideration.

The Late-Late Saturday Slate (After 21:00)
Utah State-Air Force should be fun, and SDSU-EMU should be evenly matched, but the headliner is Washington-Arizona State. ASU is coming off a loss to the aforementioned SDSU and Washington took care of Utah late last week and is building it’s rank back up after the week 1 loss to Auburn.
