2020 Fantasy Football - Rankings - 1st R.O.O.C. Ranks

Alright, here are my post draft R.O.O.C. Rankings. ROOC stands for (Rookie Overall Opportunity Composite) which made a nice acronym to put it more simply it’s my rankings of players from the draft adjusted for the value of their draft slot and the roster around them. The components that go into the Ranks are: Player Grade – rating on an scale from 2-8 , Pick Grade – letter grade for each pick turned into a percentage, Pick AV – the Average Approximate Value (AV) of the pick a player was selected with, Now – Where they sit on the teams Ourlads depth chart, End of Season (EOS) – where I think they’ll finish the year on the depth chart, Year 3 – where I think they slot overall on a depth chart in 3 years. The six ingredients all mix together to get a raw grade and then I adjust the grade for positional value in fantasy football. And voila!!! A set of R.O.O.C. ranks.

It's a fun year for rookies with a bevy of wide receivers, running backs who all ended up in interesting spots and, if you play in superflex leagues, a few good QBs in good places. It’s always interesting to me that in years like 2019 clear tiers breakout and then in years like this year the tiers a lot less pronounced and even in my own rankings you could choose your own adventure and not be considered to be insane.

The first natural cutoff is after Taylor and the receivers. Ruggs was the first receiver off the board but Jeudy and Lamb are buoyed by my analysis of them pre-draft. Ruggs has the quicker route to being WR1 in Oakland than the other two however. Aiyuk was rated lower for me but he’s high on the 49ers depth chart and he has the second easiest path to a starting role on a good offense. Taylor will have to beat out Marlin Mack but they’re not comparable talents and Taylor should get the ball early in his rookie season if not immediately. Now the cutoff for tier two is either after Jefferson or Higgins. And I think tier-wise I would probably say Higgins is the next cutoff. Burrow would drop down in my personal rankings because in a 1QB league you don’t need to take a rookie QB but him at or near the bottom of this tier would put him at pick 12 to 14 and that seems about right. Mims took a big hit during the process not going until 59 to the Jets but if he starts making noise in camp, he’ll jump back up a bit in these rankings.

Here are my 2QB R.O.O.C. ranks and there isn’t really a big surprise here. The QBs move up, everyone else shifts down with Jordan Love peaking up into the second round at 17.
