2025 NFL Draft - Tight Ends

 

While there isn’t a Bowers there is a mighty fine collection of talent at the top of this class of tight ends and a variety of shapes and sizes (too some extent) among them as well making this class more intriguing than even 2023 with four prospects at the top this time around compared to 3 that year, at least for me.

Warren has it all for me, athleticism, size, hands, production. He was the Penn State passing game and is a functional blocker with the size and willingness to play in-line. Loveland frankly moves like a wide receiver in space, is a fluid athlete and as a Michigan tight end a solid blocker if a touch on the slim side. Fannin is the guy I’m gonna be cheering for and the thing to remember while I gush is that I put him here because his blocking is limited and while he’s very athletic he is duck footed and there are certain routes that are less natural for him. All that is to say that when you watch Fannin you see a man with a knack for the ball and making plays. He was the entire Bowling Green offense, had 117 catches, led the nation in receiving and it’s not like you can say it was all just dominating the MAC, he had 19 catches for 282 against PSU and Texas A&M and at no point looks out of place athletically against him. He lined up in-line, as an H-back, and in the slot and routinely made catches in traffic. He's a boom-bust prospect but boy is there a lot of boom from college. I have Taylor as the same rank as Fannin because he is the best blocker of the group, he moves on his pulls like a lineman (in a good way) and attacks the second level well. That’s not to say Taylor isn’t good in the pass game, he is a smooth mover despite not being the most overwhelmingly athletic tight end and catches the ball well. Lastly, Arroyo is explosive, he averaged 17 yards a catch last year at Miami and if he can become a functional blocker he’s got pop that many don’t which is why he’s TE5 for me.
