2019 NFL Draft: Positional Ranks: Offensive Linemen

This set of ranks will be set up a bit different just because there are not stats for offensive linemen, I’ll leave the full table for each but talk about my top 5 at each position. Tackle is a lot like the rest of the skill positions with the top of group all having flaws, however interior is loaded with a half dozen being good to very good prospects.

Note: A quick reminder, the grades are on the 20-80 scale stolen from baseball scouting and the grade groups are Starter (S), Expected Starter (ES), Potential Starter (PS), Backup (B), and Undrafted Free Agent (UDFA).
Rankings to this point – QB | RB | TE | WR

Tackles

Let’s start with the elephant in the ranks Jonah Williams. He’s good but there are some spots that worry me in what I watched. The championship game wasn’t as bad as it’s’ been made out by some, but it wasn’t what you’d call a positive he had problems with inside counters and against that elite competition wasn’t as strong at the point of attack as you’d like. I don’t think he moves inside but I think he’s a high floor/low ceiling prospect. The top three are all different players with Taylor being the best mix of agility and power but was played on the right side of the line by Florida, Little moves well in space and can maul when need be but wasn’t asked to as much as Taylor, while Dillard is the best, and most experience, pass blocker in the draft but was rarely asked to run block under head coach Mike Leach. Lastly, is Mitch Hyatt, who like Williams is a solid player who should be at worst a non-liability for a line at the next level.

Guards

This guard class fun (Yeah, I know relative term)!! It’s tough to separate Haynes and Lindstrom I liked Haynes’ “Fuck You” a bit more than Lindstrom’s but they are both high quality guards. Jordan got bull rushed a bit too much for my taste, Froholdt is lesser known but I loved the way he handled Alabama’s internal pressure this season, and Nate Davis is a mover but needs to work on his anchor at the next level.

Center

Center rounds out an incredibly good top of the interior line class. Both Bradbury and McCoy held their own against that ridiculous Clemson defensive front. Jenkins was stout in the SEC but wasn’t quite as proficient as Bradbury and McCoy. And both McGovern and Benzschawel are both versatile players who proved themselves week in and out in the Big Ten.
