2019 College Football: Week 9 - Best Bets

We had a great week 8 after a couple rough weeks that didn’t quite go our way. Let’s keep it going into week 9.

The Pertinent Information
Bankroll - $10,603.64
ROI – 16.77%
Record – 20-15-1 (56.94%)

Wisconsin at Ohio State (-14)
This line is too low even if the Badgers hadn’t lost last week to Illinois and came into this game undefeated. Ohio State is faster, more talented, and more complete as a team. Wisconsin’s defense is legitimately good, but they haven’t had to deal with anyone on the level of Justin Fields or J.K. Dobbins. I’d be willing to bet this one up until -17.

Penn State (-6) at Michigan State
Penn State heads to Michigan State off a good but not great performance against Michigan last week. Michigan State shouldn’t be able to score on the Nittany Lions who have enough on offense to win what will almost assuredly be a sloppy game by 10 points.

Louisiana Tech (-20.5) at UTEP
My #MorganSpecial for the week UTEP is really bad, Louisiana Tech is alright and when UTEP plays alright teams they lose big. I’d be comfortable with this one up to -24.

Tulane at Navy (-3)
Two good teams, two option based offensive attacks, and two very nice surprises of the CFB season. Navy is the more balanced team, Tulane has been more efficient on offense than defense. I think we see a bit of a slobber knocker with Navy being more balanced at home pulling away late.

UCF at Temple (+10.5)
Temple has been good this season with a defense that isn’t quite on par with their great ones recently but still very good. The offense has been inconsistent at best but has the ability to move the ball when working correctly. UCF has been top-25 quality, but the offense has been inconsistent so far this year with troubles consistently finishing chances leading to an unfortunate loss to Pitt. This one should be a lot of fun and look for Temple to keep it close through most of the game.

Let’s keep up the run of good form this week. I’m off this week so I might check in Thursday to see how the lines have moved or if they’ve gone the wrong way maybe give another pick or two.
