This will
probably be my penultimate set of rankings, and since most of us will be
drafting in the next 10 to 14 days this will be the set of ranks that at least
1 of us (me) will use. I’ve discussed many of the players in each ranking
already so this time I’ll highlight the big differences I have with ADP and I
thought it would be interesting to see the difference between the first rank
and this set.
Here are
the QB rankings. QB is deep as can be seen in the 11-player tier 3 that
stretches to QB18.

Five
Biggest Differences
Blake
Bortles, QB, JAC – Diff: 8 Higher
– Bortles has thrown for 3500 yards, rushed for 300, and scored 20 plus TDs in
each of the last three seasons. Anything lower than 16 just feels like letting
the on-field affect the rankings.
Jared
Goff, QB, LAR – Diff: 8
Lower – I’m glad Goff had a comeback season last year and gets to work with
a competent coach for the second straight season. That said a 4:1 TD to INT isn’t
sustainable and the offense as a whole is due for some regression. Maybe a low-end
QB2 is too low, but outside of Dalton whom would you put him over.
Marcus
Mariota, QB, TEN – Diff: 7
Higher – Mariota is a flag player (h/t Chris Harris) for me this year.
I think he’ll easily be a QB1 this year in just about any league type.
Josh
Allen, QB, BUF – Diff: 6 Higher
– This set of ADP data came out before McCarron fractured his collarbone, even
if McCarron is ready early in the year I think Allen is the starter unless he
performs to his floor.
Baker Mayfield, QB, CLE – Diff: 6 Lower – I think Taylor starts the first handful of games
and that sinks his value some.
